In Memoriam: Elmer H. Green, MD (April 9, 1929 - Nov. 20, 2022)

Elmer Green was born in Seattle, WA, and died at age 93 in Issaquah, WA. Elmer was married to Faye Green for 44 years. Upon graduating from Lincoln High School in 1946, Elmer along with his two best friends, enlisted in the Navy for two years. After college he joined the Air Force attaining the rank of colonel, spanning the Korean, Vietnam, and first Gulf War years. Elmer began as a navigator, and 45 years later retired as a flight surgeon.

In civilian life, Elmer was a family physician for Group Health for 41 years. He was a dedicated musician, playing trumpet with the Redmond Swing and Bellevue Community Bands. In retirement, Elmer rowed with the Sammamish Rowing Club and tutored middle school math. He is survived by his wife Faye; children Stuart, Sandra, Liz, Tom, and Molly; and brother Jim Green. Elmer was Granddad to 12, and Great-Granddad to 16. A memorial service will be held at Flintoft's Funeral Home in Issaquah on December 17th at Noon. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to your favorite charity.
