Welcome to ARMS, the Washington Permanente Medical Retirement Group
ARMS was established in 1990 to make the transition from active practice to retirement easy, to maintain friendships and collegiality among retirees, and to continue their connection to the Permanente Group. ARMS sponsors three in person luncheons a year, maintains a website, and sends periodic newsletters to members.
We have more than 400 members, including both retired medical providers and administrative staff. Spouses or partners of deceased members are invited to continue as members of an Extended ARMS.
ARMS is now led by the ARMS Coordinating Committee whose members are: Chair Hugh Straley, Alan Fine, Chris Fordyce, Tim Gilmore, Deb Gore, John Howe, Suzanne Spencer, Steve Tarnoff, Sara Thompson, Al Truscott, Mike Wanderer, and emeritus members Ruth Krauss and Annie Iryie.
